The Kuki Reka Kani was not only inspired by
Kaumātua but it was made for Kaumātua. The handles on the Kuki Reka Kani are inserted with an aluminium dowel; the weight of the handle provides extra support so that Kaumātua don't need to push hard to cut through dough which are great for assisting with arthritic hands and wrists. The handles are also made with large, soft grips that are gentle on Kaumātua hands as well as easy for children to handle.
